Brief Summary Guide To Watching VR Porn On Apple Vision Pro Updated August 2024

You CAN watch VR porn on the Apple Vision Pro. You simply need to enable WebXR support in the Safari Browser. One of the best places to find VR porn videos to watch on your Vision Pro is SexLikeReal.

A representative on the SexLikeReal forum gave a concise list of instructions on how to enable WebXR support in the Safari Browser that the Apple headset uses.

How to enable WebXR support in Safari for the Apple Vision Pro

  • Open Settings.
  • Select Apps.
  • Select Safari.
  • Scroll to the bottom of the window and select Advanced.
  • Scroll to the bottom of the window and select Feature Flags.
  • Under Experimental XR Features, enable WebXR Device API and WebXR Hand Input Module.
  • Under WebKit Feature Flags, enable WebXR Augmented Reality Module and WebXR GamePads Module.
  • Exit Settings.
  • Open Safari, or if it’s already open, refresh a WebXR-enabled page to check it is working.

It is also possible to experience passthrough porn videos on the Apple Vision Pro using the ALVR app.

The above relates to conventional stereoscopic VR porn videos. It is also possible to watch spatial porn videos on the Vision Pro. I have compiled a list of sites selling spatial porn videos.

Why The New Apple Vision Pro Headset Is NOT A ‘$3500 Chastity Belt

Probably from the very first day that the Apple Vision Pro was announced, or even rumored, most people’s first or second thought was – ‘how good will VR porn be on it?’. Of course, mainstream tech articles made no mention of this – it’s been the big smutty elephant in the room. However, within a week of the product finally going on sale in Apple stores, the damn has burst. Quite a number of online tech magazines have been reporting, with more than a hint of personal frustration, that it is not possible to play VR porn on the Apple Vision Pro. More than that, they have been claiming that Apple themselves have made a decision to block VR porn on their device. ‘A $3,500 Chastity Belt’ screamed a headline from the first tech site to run the story. On the surface, this might not seem such a surprise, as a year after the similarly anticipated launch of the PSVR 2, it’s still not really possible to watch VR porn on that headset. So why should be different for the Vision Pro, especially since Apple does not even market it as a VR headset?

Now I have to admit that I haven’t been lucky enough (or rich enough) to get my hands on a Vision Pro. But I have done a little investigative work, and I’ve discovered two things. Firstly, it’s not true to say that Apple has ‘blocked VR porn’, and secondly, it appears that it is possible to watch VR porn on the Vision Pro, and although perhaps difficult at present, we can expect it to become easier over time. Certainly, things seem a lot more hopeful than with the PSVR 2.

The ‘$3,500 chastity belt’ quote came from a commentator at the popular VR porn subreddit OculusNSFW, in a thread entitled – “Anyone figured out porn on the Vision Pro?” 404 Media and other tech outlets referred to the discussion as evidence that lucky new Vision Pro owners were whining that Apple were not allowing them to watch VR porn. The chastity belt was one of the first answers in the thread, and has been heavily upvoted, probably because it’s a very witty remark. But actually, if you read through the discussion that follows, things are a bit more complex. OculusNSFW is the unofficial official VR porn subreddit. It’s full of the most hardcore and passionate of VR porn fans, many of whom have been watching adult VR movies since the Oculus Rift development kit ten years ago. A lot of people there are tech savvy enough, especially when it comes to VR porn viewing, to know if and how VR porn could be played on the Vision Pro, even if they don’t own one. And no doubt there are many Redditors there who are so passionate about VR porn, that they have purchased an Apple headset primarily in order to experience VR porn on it. So here is what I gleaned from the discussion at Reddit, as well as comments underneath some of those tech articles covering the story.

Apple has not ‘blocked VR porn’ (although of course, like Meta and Sony, no adult apps are allowed). VR porn (and other porn) has not been blocked from Apple’s Safari web broswer. So why isn’t it yet possible to just surf to a VR porn pay site like BadoinkVR, or a review site like ImmersivePorn.com, and simply click on a video and watch it in VR, just as you can on the Meta Quest browser? Well, the problem appears to be either or both of the following: Safari does not yet fully support WebXR that allows VR videos to be played in a browser, and/or the VR porn pay sites have not yet formatted their videos to play on the Safari browser inside the Vision Pro. The majority opinion seems to lean towards the former, rather than the latter. The majority opinion also seems to be that whichever of the issues it is, it will be likely fixed soon. At any rate, we can clearly say that the problem is not the same as with the PSVR 2. In the case of the PSVR 2, the issue is that there is no web browser at all.

Another way to watch VR porn is to use a third-party VR video app. There are a number of these in the Meta store. As these VR video players can play any VR video, and are not marketed as VR porn video players (at least not in the app stores), they do not fall foul of Meta or Apple’s restriction on adult apps. One popular VR video player is ‘SKYBOX’, and they have officially stated that they are working on Apple Vision Pro support.

According to a commentator underneath an article at Gizmodo, there is a free video player in the Apple app store that allows you to watch local VR videos.

There is a free app in the app store called Rolli that will let you watch local VR videos but you just have to let it play no skipping

Another likely way it will be possible to play VR porn on the Vision Pro is through a PC/Mac streaming app such as the popular Meta Quest Virtual Desktop app. This would allow not just VR porn videos, but also VR and AR sex games such as VR-Hot. And the good news is that the genius developer behind Virtual Desktop – Guy Godin – has already stated that he is going to be developing a version for the Apple Vision Pro.

So to sum up, it’s good news. You can probably play VR porn videos on the Apple Vision Pro right now, if not exactly simply or smoothly, but it’s almost certain that it will become much easier very soon, and that within 12 months or so, you will have multiple ways of doing so.

I will keep updating this article as new information comes to light. For general info on the Vision Pro and some amazing demos of how it is being put to use, I recommend the r/VisionPro subreddit.

*Update – According to an article at Decrypt.co :

By accessing “Settings” > “Apps” > “Safari” > “Advanced” > “Feature Flags,” users can activate the WebXR Device API, Enhance API, WebXR Augmented Reality Module, and WebXR Gamepads Module.

This workaround, although not perfect, has been partially successful, with sites like VRPorn.com providing a more immersive experience.

However, in response to the above advice, a user at r/oculusnsfw cautioned :

You’re technically correct, but this doesn’t mean websites you’d use actually support it – and the experience today on WebXR + VisionPro is so bad today it’s unusable IMO. Hopefully this will change in the future, but today’s support makes other headsets a better choice.

Meanwhile, an amateur couple have already started selling the first ‘spatial porn’ videos (you can play these on the Quest headsets in VR too). I’ve made an up-to-date list of the best sites that sell spatial porn videos for the Apple Vision Pro headset.
