Quite a number of top AI porn generators have been scrambling to change their domain names after finding that they have been kicked off the .ai TLD, which is actually owned by the government of Anguilla – a tiny British overseas territory in the Carribean. Victims include Promptchan.ai (now at Promptchan.com), Seduced.ai (now at Seduced.com), and PornJoy.ai – which sadly doesn’t own the domain PornJoy.com, so will have to find a new home somewhere else.
At the time of publishing this article, it is not exactly clear when Anguilla has banned these sites and not others. As far as I know, none of the many AI girlfriend sites hosted with the .ai TLD have been affected. Presumably, the crackdown is related to sites breaking terms and conditions of hosting porn, such as perhaps having ‘reface’ features. In the light of draconian UK legislation against deepfake porn, it would hardly be surprising if Anguilla had decided or been pressured into enforcing stricter compliance. However, somewhat oddly the site DeepSwap.ai is still up.
It may be too early to draw any conclusions or for the sites in question to give up hope of their .ai domains being restored. We have been here before in early 2023, when virtually all AI porn sites were kicked off the .ai extension, only to be restored a day or two later.
This is so interesting. I didn’t even know what country owned .ai This is why they always say .com is king. Imagine having to restart now! I guess sites like Glambase etc are clever for building their sites away from .ai
Any idea where pornpen.ai has migrated to? Love that one.
I don’t know. The company behind Sexy.ai bought it a while back – I will ask them.
