I was very saddened to learn this morning of the passing on New Year’s Day of the imaginative and prolific sex tech writer and sci-fi/erotica author ‘M.Christian’ (Chris), reported by the FutureofSex.net site for which he wrote many entertaining and knowledgeable articles for.
We are so sorry to make this announcement, but our managing editor and longtime contributor, M.Christian—born Christian Allan Muncy—died suddenly from a heart attack on New Year’s morning, in Springfield OR. This tragic news has stunned countless readers, colleagues, and friends who have enjoyed their vibrant, off-beat perspectives and visionary creativity—through work spanning decades.
I didn’t know Chris other than from reading his articles, as well as a few emails we exchanged when I commissioned him to write an article for this site. But even that quite limited interaction left me with a deep impression of what a caring guy he was. It was back in March 2022, and my mother had just died after a long and painful battle with cancer. After mentioning it to him, he was quick to offer his clearly heartfelt condolences and offer any support that he could.

The FutureofSex.net has always been the one other sex blog I read on a regular basis, largely due to his always fun and creative writings on every sex tech related topic imaginable. For example, Chris recently wrote a well-researched piece on progress in brain-reading tech and what it might mean for decoding dreams and improving sexual wellness.
imagine if fMRI technology was portable and affordable—coupled with a few more years of fine-tuning—peering into our uniquely primordial selves might provide us with invaluable insights like revealing and possibly helping us to emotionally process unconsciously suppressed sexual urges.
Imagine the therapeutic possibilities, a world where our dreams wouldn’t be half-remembered, barely understood, and frequently misinterpreted but sharp, clear, and amazingly vivid: laid out for us to learn and grow from, with the aid of a new breed of sexual wellness experts.
Why knows, maybe we’ll see the rise of artists who use not film, cameras, paints, or canvas but their own highly-trained subconscious minds to create fantastically alluring, erotically dreamy VR entertainments—or feel as well as see, by throwing next-gen haptic tech into the mix as well.
It’s truly a sad loss to the sex tech world and I give my heartfelt condolances to his family and friends, and the FutureofSex.net team. With the progress in sex tech accelerating every day, it’s tragic that Chris will not get to witness so many of his bold predictions and speculations come true over the next decade.
Meanwhile, his writings will live on. Here are a few important links that deserve to be explored:
