Earlier this year, the world’s first 5K porn site went online, and last week the studio behind that site announced that it has become such a success that they have now launched a second 5K site – 5KTeens.
I’m somewhat surprised that 5K porn is proving popular, as there would appear a very limited market for it currently. There are now 8K TVs on the market for home use, although they are still priced out of the range of most consumers. It does appear, however, that 8K is the future for the leading television manufacturers. It’s more likely that members of the 5K porn sites (which have no competition currently) come from owners of 5K or above monitors and laptops, which are much more affordable than the TVs. High end smartphones now also have resolutions above 5K. Watching porn on 5K (or ‘better than ultra-hd’) resolution monitors, laptops, and smartphones makes more sense than on a TV anyway, as on these screens you have your face closer to the screen and so the higher definition can be discerned by the eye.
