AR Porn Is Back – Discplay.me Launch ‘Hologram’ AR App, Promise Live AR Porn In 2023

metaverse girls in your home - ar porn app

It’s been a terrible year for AR porn, with Badoink’s AR app dissapearing from their site, and Naughty America seemingly (and surprisingly) abandoning their AR ‘Strip Club’. Other AR demos and projects stalled, and it appeared that perhaps both the tech and the market for AR porn sadly just didn’t exist as yet. But with several high profile AR headsets expected to be launched in the next 12 months, one company has taken up the challenge of potentially cornering what might very soon be a huge market. DDSD Entertainment, a ‘social augmented reality’ company, has launched an app at Discplay.me that once downloaded on to your phone, enables you to to view holograms of girls in your environment. So far sounds very similar to what Badoink, Naughty America, and ‘AR Conk’ have already tried to do.

But there are reasons to believe that this app will be different. The most notable departure from existing app formuals is that the ‘holograms’ will be mostly user generated. DDSD Entertainment want to build a kind of OnlyFans for AR porn. Models can create their own ‘holograms’ at home, upload and monetize their content. All a creator needs is a smartphone and stand and a green screen. I put holograms in quotation marks, because it seems to me that unless the company have some quite revolutionary new technology, the resulting ‘holograms’ will actually be in 2D, similar to the 2021 app ‘My AR Girls‘. That is, the models do not alter if you change perspective. I have been unable to download the app thus far, but I’m speaking to the CEO of DDSD Entertainment – Sebastian Żywiecki – for clarification as to whether these will be 3D holograms, and hopefully I can give the app a good try out very soon too.

(Update – I did indeed recieve clarification from Sebastian that the holograms will NOT be in 3D.)

The CEO also promises that live AR porn shows will be available next year. By that time, there should be a real AR headset market, with the release of the Oculus Quest Pro (which has color passthrough enabling real AR) and likely the much anticipated AR/VR headset from Apple, as well as likely several others.

As I’ve stated here before, the reason for the failure of past AR porn app attempts has been, in my humble opinion, the fact that viewing these holograms on a smartphone is a novelty, and becomes tedious after a few minutes. Having to move around holding up a smartphone to get the hologram effect is just tiresome after a very short while, especially if you can’t interact with the model apart from pinching and zooming to change her size. The AR headset market will change this, but even there, I do believe that it is necessary for the girls to appear as 3D holograms rather than 2D cut outs. However, after a dreadful 2021 for AR porn, any new and novel attempt at an app is to be very much welcomed with (cautious) optimism.
