Meta have revealed their latest VR product at the annual Meta Connect, and it’s set to revolutionize both VR and AR porn. Called the Meta VR Glasses, it has the light-weight form factor its name suggests, but despite the VR tag, it’s equally or more a pair of AR glasses that can do VR as well. Over a decade since the original Oculus Rift, we are finally seeing VR and AR combined into a device that feels more like a pair of glasses than a bulky headset.
The Meta VR glasses will cost $1,299 at launch, which is a big increase from the Oculus Quest 3 (retailing at $299 at launch) but significantly less than the $3K+ that the Apple Vision Pro costs. Whilst not having the same resolution as the Vision Pro, it is significantly lighter, weighing in at 100g compared to the more than 500g heavier Apple headset. Like the Vision Pro, its lightweight form factor is enabled by having the processor and battery seperated from the glasses via a tethered puck. The only real negative of the Meta VR glasses is the relatively small field-of-view (FOV). It is only “70 x 66”, compared to the “110 x 96” of the Quest 3, and the “100 x 73” of the Vision Pro. Therefore, despite the “VR” branding of the glasses, this isn’t going to be a product for full immersion, but rather for passthrough and AR experiences. The color passthrough of the new product is a big step up from the Quest 3 too, with almost 50% more pixel density than the Quest 3. Braindance Release First Interactive AR/VR Porn Scene
As mentioned above, the Meta VR glasses could revolutionize both VR porn AND even more so, AR porn. As a Meta product running the Meta Horizon OS, it will natively support WebXR just as the Meta Quest range does, and just as the Apple Vision Pro does. This means that the volumetric scenes of Braindance should be playable on the glasses, in both immersive VR and in passthrough augmented reality. That’s exciting news as Braindance are pioneering the adult VR volumetric 6DoF and AR porn space and just yesterday uploaded their first interactive experience – “The Two Sides of Paradise”.

The interactive 6DoF scene features the beautiful young starlet Ophelia Fae in a branching storyline that depends on the choice you make. It’s good to see Braindance experimenting in this direction, and something like this would be fantastic to experience in your own living room with a pair of the new Meta VR glasses.
Meta VR Glasses Hologram Calling
On the subject of interacting with hologram pornstars, the Meta VR glasses reveal also showcased something called “hologram calling”, which enables you to talk live to another person wearing the VR glasses as though they’re standing in front of you. If this feature allows NSFW live chat with cam models then it would be pretty amazing.
