Another adult VR site has launched, and this one is a little more noteworthy than most. GirlsDoVR.com is owned by two popular and experienced VR porn actresses – Bree Sky and Madison Wilde. The two performers had already been sharing their work on VR porn aggregator sites, under studio brands WildeVR and BreeSkyVR, and more recently, under the GirlsDoVR name itself.
The site is being marketed as being made by the performers, for the fans. Although it’s common for pornstars to have their own branded sites, and there are several examples in VR porn, they are not usually owned or run by the stars themselves. If it is true that Bree and Madison are producing the site and choosing the scenes and performers, it’s not clear what real benefit that has to VR porn fans, or why we should expect GirlsDoVR to be better than the countless other sites out there that are run by male dominated porn companies. Perhaps as experienced performers, the girls might have some special insight into what makes VR porn work. I’m somewhat doubtful of that.
Girls Do VR, But Men Watch It

One thing that’s always annoyed me about VR porn in particular is the shocking extent to which porn actresses do not appear to understand what the (overwhelmingly male) fans want. Surveys and feedback on forums such as Reddit and SexLikeReal have shown time and time again that exaggerated fake orgasms, eye rolling, excessive tattoos, lip fillers, and many more things are just not what the majority of fans want. One or two of these things are particularly not wanted in VR porn, and spoil the special sense of immersion that fans of the genre are looking for. “Duck lips”, for example, look particularly grotesque in VR, especially in close-ups. Yet so many VR pornstars seem utterly oblivious or uncaring to such things. You can blame the directors or producers of VR porn as much as the actresses, but the point is that there is no real reason to believe that female VR pornstars know what male fans want more than the usual male producers or studio bosses do.
GirlsDoVR certainly isn’t the first “female made” VR porn. The long-running site YanksVR, which spun out of the even more established Yanks studio, also brands itself as being made by women. However, they also specifically market it as being made for women. Whether that is true or not is not certain, as it appears that most viewers of sites such as VirtualRealPassion are male, and often gay males.
At the end of the day, GirlsDoPorn should be judged on its own merits, and to be fair, it looks like a high-quality site, with around 30 videos up at launch, featuring names such as Asteria Jade, along with scenes involving Madison and Bree themselves. The videos are on the short side, and seem to average around 20 minutes. Pricing is about as much as you would expect for a new site, with a year’s membership costing just under $100.
