The first dedicated passthrough porn site has launched – CzechAR. As the title suggests, it’s from the same studio behind the popular and long-running VR site CzechVR. Only one video is currently available on the site, featuring veteran VR porn actress Antonia Sainz, and the CzechAR team freely admits that it’s all a bit of a test. However, the good news is that it’s free to download in its full twenty-minute entirety. It’s part of the CzechVR network, so if you join CzechAR, you get full access to CzechVR and the other sites in the network – CzechVR Casting and CzechVR Fetish. At just over $14 a month for a 6-month membership, the Czech VR Network is even more outstanding value with the addition of CzechAR, especially considering that it now has over 1,300 VR videos in its archives available to members.
Given that passthrough porn had already become a popular sub-niche within VR porn, despite the Meta Quest 2 having very crude b&w passthrough, it’s unsurprising that studios are now seeing the potential after the launch of the ‘mixed reality’ Meta Quest 3. Another top studio – BadoinkVR – long ago registered the domain name BadoinkAR.com, and for a while around five years ago, it was online and promising to host hologram AR pornstars. I’ve seen Badoink mentioned by fans as being one of the most likely to follow the example of CzechAR, however, I recently asked a rep at Badoink if there were any plans to resurrect BadoinkAR and she told me there were none. It could be that she just meant that the project involving ‘hologram’ AR girls that had been volumetrically scanned (like Naughty America’s RealGirlsNow pornstars) had been abandoned.
There is, of course, a question over the correct terminology when we are discussing passthrough porn videos. The videos of CzechAR, like those of SLR Originals and several other studios hosted on SexLikeReal, are VR porn videos filmed for viewing in mixed reality/passthrough mode. This is different from the volumetric 3D AR girls of RealGirlsNow, or 3DUncut.com, and which you can walk around as though they were holograms. Some purists (or pedants perhaps) maintain that only the latter is true AR porn, but it seems that fans of passthrough porn commonly refer to it as AR porn, as does SexLikeReal, and obviously now CzechAR. Whether we call it AR porn, mixed reality porn, or just plain passthrough porn, let’s hope the video from CzechAR is the first of many, and that other studios and sites will follow their example. Because in the opinions of most VR porn fans who try the passthrough experience, it’s just on another level of immersion than regular VR videos.
