Last month I tested the world’s first AI porn video generator, and was quite impressed. But despite the obvious potential, to describe the results as videos was a bit of a stretch, as really the low frame rate and brevity means the ‘videos’ are more like looped gifs. And despite the low number of images/frames each has, there is often a distinct lack of consistency in the AI girl, with her hair often changing color, her breast size increasing or shrinking, and even age and ethnicity not remaining stable. Furthermore, you can only choose from a pre-determined number of ‘scenes’, and that is because each ‘video’ is modeled upon a real porn scene.
A few days after publishing that article, I get an email from the developer behind another AI porn generator – Pornify. He had noticed, and perhaps was a little annoyed, that I had awarded another site with the historic accolade of the first AI porn video generator. And that’s because, according to him, Pornify was actually the first on the market with a video generator. He also was keen to point out the difference between his team’s video generator and others like Sexy.AI, which he claims (I think correctly) utilize AI to re-render pre-recorded videos, whereas the tool at Pornify generates completely new and unique content. He further stressed that the team at Pornify are constantly refining their AI video generation method to include sounds and make the videos more realistic and consistent.
So naturally I took a look at Pornify, and in particular their video generator (only available to VIP members). Indeed, the videos produced by Pornify looked more like AI generated videos than that of Sexy.AI, although the characters appeared distinctly odd. As the developer had told me that his team are constantly refining the tech with a new update very soon, I decided to wait a little before having another go, which I did over the weekend. And it’s very much obvious that, true to his word, the AI video tech has been upgraded already. The models look more mature and less uncanny, and in addition, they do now come with audio. Unfortunately, I was unable to download or save my creations, but I took a couple of screengrabs of the first video I generated above of an 18-19 year old Russian red-haired teen outdoors. Not a lot happens in the five second video, although a man fleetingly appears to the left, which hints at more exciting possibilities to come.
In truth, the results it produces can still only be generously described as ‘videos’, and there is certainly less action taking place than in the Sexy.ai ‘videos’. They do, however, look a bit like the AI videos produced by the Runway platform that you may have seen online, only briefer and with nudity. As with Sexy.AI, you can’t enter your own custom prompts so you are limited to the tags. But unlike Sexy.ai, there are no ‘scenes’ or actions to choose from either. So the videos produced currently consist mainly of the character wriggling from side to side and making rather ethereal moaning noises.
A further video I tried to create involved a busty, British MILF in the park. Like the Russian teen in the first video, she doesn’t do much other than appear to move side to side. The appearance of the characters in both videos do however remain very consistent with each frame, which is one of the biggest challenges involved in building a video generator.
So to be clear, AI generated porn videos are still some way from being anything that any sound-of-mind person would want to jerk off to. However, it’s still fun to play around with these things, and you do get a sense of being part of porn tech history in doing so, and having a first hand view of their likely very rapid development.
