**WARNING – FakeFap, as its name might suggest, appears to be a scam. It is still showing 21K out of a $49K target reached, over four months after this article was originally published.
A new AI porn generator site by the name of FakeFap is dreaming big, with a stated goal of not only producing a fully working NSFW video generator, but a fully AI interactive webcam girl by next summer. But here’s the catch – it hasn’t even got a working porn generator set up yet and is relying on your generous donations to get the ambitious project up and running. Furthermore, their crowdfunding page is not on Patreon or a similar third party platform, but rather self-hosted on their site. Despite this, it appears to have already reached $21K of a stated funding goal of $49K. It sounds like it could either be something dubious, or one of the most monumental projects in the history of porn. Thus I would personally be wary of donating any large sum, and I would not even have highlighted the site here perhaps, if it hadn’t got me thinking a little about how soon or far away we are from convincing AI porn videos, and how realistic the goal of AI cam girls is for next year.
You can see FakeFap’s ambitious roadmap below, which starts with a ‘Face Swap’ and denudifier tool to be launched next month, followed by a text-to-image AI porn generator in December. In ‘phase 3’, which the site developers admit is the ‘tricky part’ (no kidding), the AI porn video generator should appear, and then the AI cam girls.
Current AI Porn Video Generators And The Challenges Involved
There are several AI porn sites that already have very basic video generators. TBH, these are little more than proof of concepts as of now, and you’d have to be a hardcore AI porn fan to jerk off to the crude (and brief) results they produce or even likely get aroused by them. We’ve seen the spectacular rise of text-to-image generators over the last 12 months seemingly come out of nowhere, and naturally there are high hopes and even expectations that text-to-video generation and its NSFW coattails will follow the same path. But how realistic is this? The challenges that AI porn video generation faces are chiefly consistency in each frame, the fact that a far larger set of training data is required, and in particular that specific bodily movements need to be mastered which are pretty much only to be found in porn videos. Even now, most AI porn generators find it difficult to handle static porn action shots, and often even the correct rendering of penises or vaginas. Most of the top AI porn generators are based upon cloned versions of Stable Diffusion, and (as I understand it) since version 1.5 a decision was made not to include any porn in Stable Diffusions training data. As well as all this (and partly because of all this) full AI porn video generation will obviously require far more webhosting resources than image generation.
AI porn video generators, therefore, face particular challenges above those of mainstream text-to-video generators, which are already quite huge. So while we saw the first AI porn generators appearing very soon after the likes of DALL-E, Stable Diffusion, and Midjourny made stunning advances that caught the public attention, we may have to wait a little while longer for true AI porn videos, even if over the next few months we will regularly have our jaws dropped by the latest stunning examples of mainstream AI video generation.
How Soon To AI Webcam Girls…Or AI Girlfriend FaceTime?
How realistic is FakeFap’s ambition of generating AI webcam girls by the summer of next year, and if and when they are possible, what would it mean for AI porn and the AI girlfriend market? As we’ve seen above, I feel that FakeFap will find it difficult to produce AI porn videos that are much more convincing than the basic stuff available now, even if they reach a million dollars in crowdfunding. AI cam girls, however, might be easier to develop than text-to-AI porn videos. First of all, the chat feature is already here as we know, or at least text chat, and getting more and more sophisticated all the time. There are already a growing number of AI girlfriend simulator apps and now AI girlfriend generator sites appearing. And because the interactive live chat feature is already pretty much nailed already, an AI webcam girl – unlike an AI porn video – might require less in the way of movement and action in order to entertain and arouse the viewer. Furthermore, with an AI webcam girl, she is already generated ready for you, or you can generate her yourself before you interact with her ‘on cam’. So it’s a lot less work for the AI to do than for a text-to-porn video where it has to start from scratch (and this is why all the current handful of AI porn video generators consist of a limited number of ‘scenes’ or templates you have to select from).
I recently reported on the VR/AR game VR-Hot, which has now added conversational chat ability to its 3D animated babes. And of course , many AI girlfriend apps such as Replika allow you to see your virtual girlfriend or companion as an avatar with some movement, even in AR. However, these tend not to be very realistic, and you have to choose from a limited number of avatars or avatar bases in which you can personalize by choosing from a range of hairstyles for her and so on.
The NSFW AI girlfriend generator DreamGF promises to be introducing ‘porn videos’ soon, and their recent YouTube video presented by one of their AI babes gives a tantalizing glimpse as to how the girls will look when animated.
Come next summer, it’s likely that DreamGF will be far ahead of FakeFap and perhaps any other AI porn generator when it comes to videos and ‘live AI girl’ chat. And we might also ask what is the point of an AI webcam girl anyway? Surely webcam girls only exist because they can gain financial rewards for sexually entertaining simps without any commitment or even real intimacy. Of course, millions of simps will accept that because nothing better is on the table for them. But with an AI girl, you do not need to be limited by the restraints of a webcam performer/simp relationship. She can just as easily be your ‘girlfriend’ and yours entirely. AI webcam girls make no more sense than ‘AI prostitutes’, to say the least, so it’s unclear just what FakeFap’s intentions are here.
