Chinese Company Reveals ‘Moya’ – Most Realistic Female Humanoid Robot Yet!

A Chinese company has revealed a new female humanoid that is not only realistic, able to move her head and display facial expressions, but also can walk around in a smooth and natural manner. Furthermore one of her stated case uses is as a daily companion for the home. The company behind her – DroidUP – had previously showcased hyper-realistic android busts at various robot exhibitions in China, and more recently launched a bi-pedal “Walker” series of robots, with one finishing 3rd in the world’s first humanoid half-marathon in Beijing (April 2025).

DroidUp set themselves apart from most other Chinese makers of humanoid robots by specifically attempting to create “warm-blooded” humanoids that navigate the Uncanny Valley and are intended not for industrial applications but for social interactions with humans such as care for the elderly or simply as home companions. The company claims that the “bionic head” of Moya is completely customizable. The body contains a lightweight skeleton with muscle components, allowing it to not only move so realistically, but also to weigh in at only 32 KG (70lbs) – much lighter than most full-sized bipedal humanoid robots. DroidUp also point to it being able to maintain a normal human skin temperature.

There is some confusion as to how much Moya will cost when it goes on sale hopefully later this year. Interesting Engineering reports a price of 1.2 million Japanese Yen, which is around $7K USD. This seems unlikely given the price of a realistic Chinese sex doll is often as much as half that. Other reports put the likely price tag closer to a whopping $200K.

DroidUP Moya female humanoid robot

In November last year another Chinese humanoid manufacturer – XPENG – revealed a walking robot with breasts, although it did not have a face. China has a surplus of 30 million men and thus a vast number of lonely single men. The popularity of AI girlfriends has demonstrated that a female humanoid robot marketed as an AI companion could have a huge market, even if it does not have a vagina to enable penatrative sex.
