Top virtual reality porn studio VR Bangers have released world’s first 12K VR porn scene. The video features veteran performer Ryan Keely, and according to the company’s flamboyant CEO Daniel Abramovich, was filmed in 12K, which is set to be their new standard…at least until they move on to even higher resolutions…
“We never stop working to bring new technological solutions and drive the development of the entire industry,” said VR Bangers CEO Daniel Abramovich. “In the past, we have repeatedly managed to raise the production standards in the market by pioneering VR porn videos in 4K, 6K or 8K UHD—and today we are taking the next step again by being the very first to produce the VR sex scene in 12K ultra HD. Hopefully, our fans are gonna like it and even though it sounds completely crazy, I promise we’re not stopping there—and we’ll try to keep on pushing the limits of this tech even further!”
However, some users on Reddit who have tried to download it, have complained about the inadequate AVC/H264 codec, and claim that only PC VR would be able to handle playing it. Only one VR headset currently has 12K resolution screen – the Pimax Reality 12 – and that isn’t actually generally available yet. Having said that, it’s generally agreed that VR videos with higher resolution than the screen resolution of the headset, can still ‘look sharper’. Whether that will be the case with the 12K movies of VR Bangers remains to be seen. It’s also the case that filming in 12K now ‘future proofs’ their video archive for the coming wave of next generation headsets.

VR Bangers announced back in January of last year that they had a goal of shooting in 12k. In 2018, they were the first site to release VR videos in 6K, when the standard was still 4K (VirtualRealPorn had begun releasing 5K VR movies shortly before). In early 2020, Virtual Taboo were the first site to start releasing 7K VR porn videos, and were quickly superseded by Czech VR’s 8K resolution videos, followed in turn by several other sites. However, it is debated among VR porn fans as to wether studios are actually filming in the resolution they are releasing the videos in, or simply upscaling the videos post-production. It seems to be generally agreed that the 8K videos of Czech VR are filmed in 8K, and have currently the best quality image.
