New 3D AR VR Adult Site Launched – 3DUncut

Eyes Up Front - Courtney Tillia

A new 3D AR/VR porn site has launched, ready to take on the volumetric scanned pornstars of Naughty America’s RealGirlsNow. 3DUncut.com is a brave and creditable new attempt at true AR porn, with the resolution, placement, and animation of the models looking at least on a par with that of RealGirlsNow, and even exceeding them with their variety (although lacking in any hardcore action). It launches with a sizeable collection of 56 different ‘holograms’ off the bat, spread between six different ‘creators’. The majority of the holograms are currently free to view, with the others costing $5 a time to buy.

What’s surprising is that one of the hologram girls featured is the MMA fighter turned OnlyFans star Paige VanZant*. She has no less than nine holograms here, with her performing routines ranging from a sexy foot fetish tease in nylons and high heels to her shadow boxing in the ring. Paige has over 3 million followers on Instagram, whereas 3DUncut has less than 20 at the time of publication. I came across 3DUncut when they announced themselves on Reddit. Perhaps they haven’t ‘officially’ launched, and were just seeking feedback from hardcore VR porn enthusiasts (the responses given were rather lukewarm, to say the least). It does seem odd that the Internet has not yet picked up on the fact that you can see such a huge star such as her, playing around with whipped cream in lingerie, or performing sexy yoga routines half-naked, on your living room floor, as a hologram. But give it time I suppose…

These are true AR 3D holograms that you can move around and view from every angle. Using a smartphone, it’s pretty neat, but just not something you are likely going to do for more than a minute before getting bored and arm weary. However, with the launch of the Meta Quest 3 later this year, which will have high-resolution color passthrough, it’s likely AR porn will become a lot more fun to a lot more people quite soon. But it will probably be only when we are all constantly wearing AR glasses (at least at home), that sexy AR holograms like this are going to be something that millions will want to spend money on. In the meantime, let’s hope brave adult AR projects like this can at least be profitable enough to stay afloat and take the tech onwards a little.

3DUncut has a ‘frequently asked questions‘ page which is rather helpful and interesting.

Why should I care about this? Why is it special?
Over the last few years volumetric (3D) video has been brought out of a lab and now is finding its way into the mainstream. Volumetric video is not 2Pac’s hologram, this is not 3D glasses or TV’s, these are not avatars, these are real people who are now able to be authentically brought into virtual and augmented reality.

The idea is that authentic human performance will always be in demand, especially as our experiences become more virtual, and this technology supplies that demand.

What do I do with these videos?
Put on a VR headset and your favorite performer is practically in the room with you. With your mobile phone, you can watch and make videos in augmented reality and post them to social media. With your computer, you can zoom, spin, drag the camera around to watch the entertainment however you’d like.
What is volumetric video and why is it awesome?
Volumetric video is a cutting-edge technology that captures real-life human performances in 3D and allows them to be played back in virtual reality and augmented reality environments. This gives users an incredibly realistic and immersive experience.

When interacting with volumetric video, you’re able to spin the performer around, zoom in, adjust the camera angle and have total freedom in how you view and experience the performance. You’re able to see angles and viewpoints with volumetric video which heighten the intimacy and connection to the experience, something that is not accessible in 2D video.

Simply put, it’s the most realistic digital representation of a person, because it is that person. There is no CGI, no special effects, and these are not avatars, it is just lots of camera footage stitched together to bring the authentic performer directly into the experience.

*Update 13th April 2023 – The holograms of Paige VanZant have disappeared from the site.
