SexLikeReal probably doesn’t need an introduction to most readers. It’s long been one of the top VR porn site aggregators, as well as producers of their own widely-acclaimed original content (SLR Originals). In a recent blog post they announced that they are ready to take VR porn to another level of immersion with the introduction of a new 16K VR camera system – the Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive camera. Whilst the Quest 3 cannot display 16K resolution, Alex Novak notes that it will ensure that new movies are futureproofed for the next generation of headsets (the Meta Quest 4 is likely to be released in late 2026). Meanwhile, the Apple Vision Pro can display resolution as sharp as 16K.
Most VR headsets may not be ready for 16K, but according to Alex Novak, the advanced features of the new camera will bring other, more immediately tangible benefits to VR porn fans, including real depth and richer colors.
- Crystal-clear detail: Every inch of the action in stunning 16K (8K per eye) makes you feel like you’re really there.
- Real depth & presence: Dual ultra-wide lenses capture the curves, closeness, and space exactly as your eyes would see it.
- Richer colors, sexier lighting: Massive dynamic range means warm skin tones, vivid outfits, and natural shadows that pull you in.
- Longer, uninterrupted scenes: Huge SSD storage lets us film extended takes without cutting the mood.
- Smooth, steady experience: Built-in pro-grade stabilization keeps the focus on the action, not the camera shake.
- Future-ready: Get the best experience now and when you upgrade your headset.
Direct DaVinci Resolve integration: Making the post-production timeline even more efficient.
The Blackmagic VR camera system records in 16K VR at 90fps. Novak claims that the first movies filmed with the new camera are already in production. At this point, I am unaware if other VR porn studios have purchased the same camera. In March of last year, VRBangers released the world’s first 12K VR porn movie to great fanfare, followed by another not long after. But since then, nothing. There was even speculation at the time that that the movies were not filmed in real 12K, but rather upscaled in post-production. 8K has remained the standard throughout the adult VR industry for a number of years. In fact, CzechVR and VRBangers both started releasing 8K movies in the first half of 2020. As the release of the Quest 4 approaches, I expect to see more studios adopting 16K as their standard.
