A Redditor has shown how the adult VR animation software Virt-A-Mate can be combined with Quest 2 passthrough mode, in order to create some rather impressive mixed reality porn. As anyone who follows some of the talented creators producing content through Virt-A-Mate will know, it’s getting pretty advanced. So to see its potential to create AR porn through the crude passthrough of the Quest 2 headset is exciting. What’s equally interesting about the Redditor’s post though, is that he gives instructions as to how to turn passthrough mode on in the Quest 2, meaning you don’t have to fiddle around getting in just the right position to trigger it.

- On your PC, launch VaM
- Once you’re in VaM, use the Left Menu + Right B button combination. This will fill in the black areas with passthrough and make the model look like she’s in your room. You can also try Left Menu + Right A button which will blend both and make her appear like a ghost.
- I typically delete everything except the model out of my scene, and I turn shadows off of my light sources. You may also need to change the color of her hair since any black will look transparent.
The Redditor also points out that the same trick to initiate passthrough mode will also allow you to watch VR porn videos in mixed reality, so long as there are enough black spaces in the video (Darkroom VR videos are good for this).
If you don’t want to go through all the steps above, then you can still experience passthrough porn on your Quest 2, but it requires you to sit in just the right physical position in relation to your guardian boundary, in order that the VR porn blurs in with your environment.
